My God is Bigger than my Fears

Pediatricians and ENT doctors have taken a look into my tonsils these past 2 years.  Majority said I need to give up my tonsils to avoid future complications - rheumatic heart, kidney disease, etc.  Only one of them said tonsillectomy is not necessary, well, as long as I did not have tonsillitis or strep throat 5 times or more this year and as long as I have no sleep apnea.  I do snore but slight.  This health problem is enough to keep us worried.

The enemy tries to break our spirits in so many ways.  We get depressed, worried so much about so many things including our health.  Sometimes we forget that there is Someone up there Who is bigger than any problem that comes our way.  So I thought why would I keep myself stressed over these worries when I could just let God handle them?

His promises are true.  We just keep on trusting Him.  He is Jehovah Rapha, our Healer.

Hurt — Jeremiah 30:17 . . . I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the LORD. He wants us healthy and happy.

Grief Isaiah 53:3-4 . . . Surely he has taken up our grief and pain, and carried our sorrows. He carried our grief, sorrow and pain on Calvary.

Stress — Isaiah 40:18-29 . . . Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Anxious 1 Peter 5:6-7 . . . Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.

Pain Job 6:10 . . . This would be my comfort; I would even exult in pain unsparing, for I have not denied the words of the Holy One, my God.

Weary Isaiah 40:31 . . . But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Those who put their trust in the Lord will run and not get tired; they will walk and not fall behind.

Loss — Matthew 5:4 . . . Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

Cry Psalms 30:5 . . . Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. Across a lifetime there is only God’s love. The nights of crying your eyes out will give way to days of laughter.

Broken Psalm 34:18 . . . The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; If the wind is knocked out of you, he’ll help you catch your breath.

Anguish Psalms 22:24 . . . For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him. He will never let you down; He will never look the other way when you are being kicked around. He will never wander off to do his own thing; He has been right there listening, waiting for you to call on Him.

Sorrow John 16:22 . . . So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. The sadness that we might have right now is similar to that pain, but the coming joy is also similar. When Jesus sees us, we will be full of joy, and it will be a joy no one can rob from us, ever.

Why Romans 8:18 . . . For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. God is telling us that there is no comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times when we are forever with the Lord.

Depression Lamentations 3:22 . . . It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion fails not. We will never be overtaken because of the love and compassion of God.

Wounded Isaiah 30:26 . . . The LORD binds up the hurt of his people, and heals the stroke of their wound. God heals his people of wounds and bruises.

Burdened  Psalms 55:22 . . . Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Pile all your troubles on God’s massive shoulders—He’ll carry your load, He’ll help you out. He’ll never let His children topple into ruin.

Fear John 14:27 . . . Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.

Failure — Psalms 71:20-21 . . . You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again. You will increase my greatness and comfort me again. God, you’ve done it all! There is none like you. You, who made me stare trouble in the face, You turned me around; Now let me look life in the face. I’ve been to the bottom; You will bring me up, streaming with honors; Turn to me, be tender to me.  I will thank you and bless you for your faithfulness, God.

Distress — Psalm 73:26 . . . My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. When my skin sags and my bones get brittle, God is rock-firm and faithful. I’m in the very presence of God—oh, how refreshing it is.

Woe Revelation 21:4 . . . He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He’ll wipe every tear from our eyes. Death is gone for good—tears gone, crying gone, pain gone…gone, gone, gone.

Sadness Lamentation 3:19 -21 . . . I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter feeling of being lost, the taste of ashes, the poison I’ve swallowed. I remember it all—oh, how well I remember— the feeling of hitting the bottom. But there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning.   How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God I say it over and over. He’s all I’ve got left.

Trouble Psalms 46:1 . . . God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need him.

Burdened Matthew 11:25-30 . . . Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. My yoke is easy and my burden is light. Are you tired? Worn out? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the power and beauty of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or difficult on you. Walk with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Thank You Lord!!  To You be all glory, honor and praise.

Love,
Kikay
